Who Qualifies For A Bursary Or University Student Loan From NSFAS?
The National Student Financial Aid Scheme (NSFAS) has formally opened the 2025 application procedure.
Applications at the moment are open and will close on 15 December 2024.
*** Who qualifies for NSFAS funding
To qualify for NSFAS funding, an applicant must fulfill the subsequent requirements:
• Be considered a South African citizen or copyright who comes from a house that has a combined gross domestic earnings that doesn't exceed R350 000 for each annum.
• Persons with disabilities qualify if their combined family revenue isn't going to exceed R600 000 per annum.
• SASSA recipients immediately qualify for funding and wish not submit any evidence of income.
*** Loan Scheme for the Missing Middle
The NSFAS Loan Scheme for the missing middle is open to all South African citizens and permanent people from homes with combined R350 more info 000 and R600 000 per annum.

NSFAS only funds individuals who are researching or intend to research at a general public university or TVET college in South Africa.
